Privacy Statement
Effective as of August 15, 2026
This statement applies to https://www.hearthshops.com, published by HearthShops (the “Site”).
(a) Scope of collection. The Site offers no user accounts and no registration. Its one data entry field is the optional subscription to email updates. On subscription, the Site retains the email address supplied together with the date, time, and originating IP address of the submission, held as the record of consent. Distribution is performed by Resend, our email delivery provider, which processes the address on our instruction and for delivery alone. The subscriber list is maintained for this Site exclusively; it is not combined with the roll of any other site, and it goes neither to a buyer, nor to a renter, nor to a trading partner. Each message contains an unsubscribe link; requests may equally be sent to [email protected], and are actioned within ten days.
(b) Browser storage. Save for the measurement described in clause (b-bis), and only where a reader has consented to it, no cookie is set by the Site and no value is written to local or session storage. No advertising network, tracking pixel, session-recording tool, or chat widget is loaded on any page, in either condition.
(b-bis) Consent-based measurement. In addition to the aggregate measurement described at clause (c), the Site is capable of operating Google Analytics 4, a measurement service provided by Google LLC. That service is subject to the following conditions.
(i) Consent precedes loading. The Google Analytics script is not loaded, and no Google Analytics cookie is set, unless and until a reader has given explicit consent through the consent notice presented on the Site. Consent is not inferred from continued reading, from scrolling, or from the dismissal of the notice. In the absence of a recorded consent, including where a reader has not yet answered, has declined, or where the consent mechanism itself fails to operate, the service remains inactive. The default condition of every page, for every reader, is that it does not run.
(ii) What is processed on consent. Where consent is given, Google Analytics 4 receives, as described in Google’s own published disclosures, pseudonymous usage data: the pages requested and the times of the requests, the referring source, an approximate geographic location derived from the IP address, technical characteristics of the browser and device, and a randomly generated identifier stored in a cookie by which repeat visits from the same browser are recognised. It does not receive a name, a postal address, a telephone number, or an email address, none of which the Site asks a reader for.
(iii) Advertising features are not enabled. No advertising feature of the service is in use. The Site operates no Google Signals, no remarketing or advertising-personalisation feature, no audience export to any advertising platform, and no user-provided-data collection feature. Data collected through the service is used to measure readership of the Site and for no advertising purpose.
(iv) The consequence of declining. A reader who declines consent, or who never answers, loses no part of the Site. Every page, every dataset, and every function remains available in full. The only measurement that then occurs is the cookieless aggregate counting described at clause (c), which runs identically for every reader and identifies no one.
(v) Withdrawal of consent. Consent may be withdrawn at any time, and withdrawal is as straightforward as the giving of it was. The consent notice may be reopened from the link in the footer of every page, and a consent previously given may be reversed there. On withdrawal the Site ceases to load the service and the identifier cookie it set is deleted. Clearing cookies in the browser produces the same effect, and returns the Site to its default condition of not running the service at all. A request may equally be sent to [email protected].
(c) Aggregate measurement. Readership figures are produced by Cloudflare Web Analytics. The tool operates without cookies and without device fingerprinting, and reports only aggregate quantities: page views, referring sites, and country of origin. It yields no identifier capable of distinguishing one reader from another.
(d) Delivery infrastructure. Cloudflare’s content-delivery and security network serves the Site. In common with every web host, that infrastructure processes the IP address accompanying each request for the purposes of returning the requested page and mitigating abuse. Such addresses are not used to identify or profile readers.
(e) Correspondence. Where a reader writes to [email protected], the address used and the contents of the message are received by us and are used solely to respond. No mailing list is compiled from correspondence.
(f) Disclosure and sale. No personal information is sold. No personal information is shared or otherwise disclosed to third parties.
(g) Do Not Track. The Site does not monitor readers across other websites. Its behaviour is therefore identical whether or not a browser transmits a Do Not Track signal; the signal neither enables nor disables anything, because nothing of that kind operates here.
(h) Children. Children under the age of 13 are not the Site’s intended audience, and no information is knowingly collected from them.
(i) Amendment. A change to any practice described above will be published on this page, bearing a new effective date, in advance of the change taking effect.
(j) Enquiries. [email protected]
